VW ad is daylight robbery

Volkswagon MaskVolkswagon MaskVolkswagen's latest advert by Deutsch, is a brilliant bit of suspense, slightly reminiscent of an action movie but with a humorous twist at the end.

The premise for the ad, titled Mask, is simple; a guy walks into a local shop wearing a ski mask, starts stalking down the aisles collecting food and such like, whilst looking menacing. All the while the customers start to hide and the counter staff begin to look scared. The camera angles and accompanying music all add to the suspense and creates a commercial that seems to promise cars chases and gun fights.

Hopefully we have built this up enough without spoiling the end, so take a look at it here.

Top 10 Super Bowl ads of all time

Office LinebackerMatthew Broderickwaste of moneyWe at The Think Tank love two things, Top 10's and great adverts, so here's Marketing Week's Top 10 Super Bowl Adverts of all time!

With the Super Bowl only round the corner (3rd February in-case you were wondering), Marketing week has done a round up of their favourite commercials that have aired during America's most-viewed sporting event, with the cost for the ad space reaching astronomical amounts.

Whilst the Top 10 is for commercials shown in the U.S. some may be familiar to U.K audiences too with the Volkswagon "Force" advert, or the Budweiser "wassup" advert included in the round-up.

Have a look at the full Top 10 here.

Volkswagen takes to the skies for parking

Attachment
autostadt01.jpgThis amazing feat of engineering is Volkswagen's temporary vertical parking lot at their production facility in Wolfsburg, Germany.

16 storeys high, the silos are composed of glass and galvanized steel and are illuminated by night. A conveyor belt system transports finished cars directly from the adjacent manufacturing plant to the towers' basement and then lifts them into position via mechanical arms that rotate and run along a central beam.

Each silo can hold up to 400 cars at a time and deliver, with fitted number plates, around 600 vehicles to customers each day as well as acting as part of VW's Autostadt visitor attraction.
