VW ad is daylight robbery

Volkswagen's latest advert by Deutsch, is a brilliant bit of suspense, slightly reminiscent of an action movie but with a humorous twist at the end.

The premise for the ad, titled Mask, is simple; a guy walks into a local shop wearing a ski mask, starts stalking down the aisles collecting food and such like, whilst looking menacing. All the while the customers start to hide and the counter staff begin to look scared. The camera angles and accompanying music all add to the suspense and creates a commercial that seems to promise cars chases and gun fights.

Stylish sci-fi fantasy for Perrier

Perrier has launched a short film called 'Drop', produced by Ogilvy Paris.

The film sees a young woman attempt a mission to the sun when the temperature on the Earth reaches unbearable levels.

It is directed by Johan Renck and was inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey, as well as French cinematography and includes lots of stylistic special effects courtesy VFX house Mikros Image.

A great visual spectacle but probably not the solution to global warming.

Modular radiators that make an impact

Take a look at this interesting feature radiator designed by Indian-born Amsterdam-based industrial designer Satyendra Pakhalé.

This modular radiator has been developed for Italian radiator manufacturer Tubes and turns radiators into sculptures to your personal design. Each radiator has a 12 x 24 cm (4.5 x 9 inches) base system to which you can add smaller components with four-armed parts.

To ensure functionality the surface area has been maximized and it has been manufactured using aluminum for rapid heat exchange. It is a lightweight structure and includes an in-wall support system that allows the radiator to also function as a partition element as well. 

A great design and very fllexible. Just what the heating industry has been looking for.
 

Live commercial in New York gets right up your nose

To prove just how good their air freshners are, Febreze held a live commercial in New York city, inviting blindfolded New Yorkers to guess where they were.

The venue was an old sea container that originally held fish - but not what the audience thought.

Charlie Sheen premieres in two new ads

Advertisers in the US appear to be taking Charlie Sheen under their wing with two new ads featuring the infamous star premiering last week.

The first for Fiat sees him racing around his house in a new Fiat, making a point about being under house arrest, and the second sees him acting out the film Platoon with someone he meets in a Turkish baths for DirectTV.






Not sure whether the association of Charlie Sheen with mainstream brands is a good one and definitely question Fiat's choice of brand ambassador! What do you think?
