High performance art
This ad for BMW Canada features some fantastic slow motion film that sees the super-fast M5 smashing through a series of objects set to classical piano music.
The result, according to their YouTube channel - 'High Performance Art'.
We can only agree - definetly one for cultured petrol-heads.

Living the dream in a cloud

Why build your house as a box when you could be living in a cloud? McBride Charles Ryan is the architectural practice behind this cloud-shaped addition to an Edwardian residence in Australia.
It is quite beautiful and very different from the ordinary front of the property that is just a bungalow.
The architects commmented, “The form of the ‘cloud’ conforms to setback regulations without appearing obviously determined by them. The extrusion creates a dramatic interior language where walls merge seamlessly with the floor and ceiling. The craftsmanship is remarkable throughout; it has a sense of care one typically associates with the work of a cooper or wheelwright. While the geometry is playful, the extrusion is essentially a contemporary barrel vault.”

The corridor in the sky
What started off as a corridor in the sky has steadily grown to now include the frame of a roof and it still keeps going up.
Looking up at it just makes us giddy, let alone being on top of it, putting it together.

A river of LED light in Tokyo

Ever wondered what 100,000 solar-powered LED spheres look like floating down a river then wonder no more.As part of the Tokyo Hotaru Festival held in May 100,000 blue glowing spheres were floated down the river, lighting it as they passed. It was designed to be reminiscent of a swarm of fireflies and to capture the way nature intended to brighten up our surroundings.
Front row tickets were a sell out and the spheres were eventually caught downstream in giant nets, ensuring no pollution.
What a sight.
