This really is a venture outside the usual remit of a football club.Real Madrid has announced that it is going to create an island retreat in the United Arab Emirates.
This $1 billion holiday resort and theme park will include beach side bungalows, a 10,000 seat stadium, an amusement park and a five star hotel.
With many of Real Madrid's fans in Asia this will provide an opportunity for their followers to emerse themselves in the brand, literally.
