Woolly Actors GuildIn aid of Comic Relief this year these videos from the archives of the 'Woolly Actors' Guild' provide previously unseen archive footage of some of the UK's most famous puppet actors auditioning for iconic cinematic roles.

Who knew that Rainbow's Zippy was up for the lead in Scarface and Geiorge was up for Notting Hill. Even Bagpuss gets a look in.

See some of the films below and more here on the Woolly Actors Guild website.

Architectural images in paper folding relief

Architectural paper foldingPaper Folding architectureArchitectural paper foldingCologne based artist Simon Schubert creates amazing images of stately homes and palaces by intricately folding plain white sheets of paper.

The folds in the surface create reliefs of just a few millimetres, catching the light at different angles to create detailed pictures of architectural spaces.

Just fantastic.

Solar tree installation at CDW

Solar Tree ClerkenwellSolar Tree Clerkenwell DesignSolar Tree Clerkenwell Design WeekAnother impressive installation at this year's Clerkenwell Design Week was the 'Solar Tree', designed by Ross Lovegrove and manufactured by Artemide.

The structure combined solar power with night LED lighting in London's St. John's Square during the week and provided visitors with a piece of urban furniture modelled on natural forms.

Comprising 20 'stems' which led to six leaf-like solar panels and four large LED lights, the installation functioned completely independently for up to three days and could feed energy back into the grid.

A great installation. Find out and see more on Design Boom.

Modular radiators that make an impact

Designer radiatorsTubes radiatorsModular radiatorsTake a look at this interesting feature radiator designed by Indian-born Amsterdam-based industrial designer Satyendra Pakhalé.

This modular radiator has been developed for Italian radiator manufacturer Tubes and turns radiators into sculptures to your personal design. Each radiator has a 12 x 24 cm (4.5 x 9 inches) base system to which you can add smaller components with four-armed parts.

To ensure functionality the surface area has been maximized and it has been manufactured using aluminum for rapid heat exchange. It is a lightweight structure and includes an in-wall support system that allows the radiator to also function as a partition element as well.

A great design and very fllexible. Just what the heating industry has been looking for.
